Originally planned as a personal adventure, it soon became apparent that the walk was raising a lot of interest amongst friends, in the village and in the media. We hope to use this interest to raise awareness and money for causes that we feel passionately about.

We are asking for your support and if you can spare it, some money!! It is important to point out now, that every penny of your donation will go to the charities; the adventure is being completely funded by Michele and I.

Wishing For A Well

The Wishing for a Well appeal has been operating for 21 years. It is a small local charity run by Bryan and Marjorie Cooper. The Charity raises money to fund the construction of wells and dams in the Eastern Province of Kenya supporting the Akamba Tribe. The work of the Charity helps produce water for many hundreds of people who live in an arid part of the world.

During this time, while world leaders 'talk' about dropping African debt and increasing aid to the poverty stricken, Wishing For a Well gives us an opportunity to take direct action in supporting the continent of Africa. The money you give will not be 'bartered' for lucrative contracts or lost to corruption; it will go directly to providing water to the most needy. It's as simple as that !!
